Features:

74HC595 chip

The UNO R3 board is equipped with a 74HC595 chip. This serial-to-parallel converter has 8 outputs and 3 inputs, through which data can be fed in bit by bit via so-called "Data" and "Clock" pins (memory locations as 1 or 0).

LCD1602 display module

The compact LCD1602 module is a white-on-blue LED backlight that has a 2 x 16 character display to display text.

DC motors and L293D chip

The starter kit shows you how a small stepper motor can be controlled with a UNO R3 controller board and a L293D transistor.

The L293D is a quad half-H high-current driver that delivers bi-directional drive currents up to 1A at voltages from 4.5V to 36V. By designating most of the pins of the versatile L293D chip on its right side to control a second motor, it can control two motors independently. Just practical, isn't it?
