V6 Silicone Socks

A pack of 3 new and improved non-stick silicone socks for E3D hot ends. Keep your heating block clean and well insulated with a cosy blue sock that is stylishly decorated with the E3D logo.

Please note that this is the standard E3D silicone sock that will ship with all E3D V6 and Lite6 hot ends from May 2017.

Some small but significant changes have been made to these socks to make 3D printing even easier, cleaner and faster with E3D hot ends. They adhere firmly to the heating block and last longer than ever!

The socks are made of a heat-resistant, non-stick coated silicone material that prevents the formation of molten plastic. This really helps with sticky materials like copolyesters and filled materials that like to build on nozzles.

These also offer a huge increase in temperature stability, especially if you use a fan with high airflow around the nozzle to cool the print. The additional cooling in combination with the reduced heat radiation from the block and nozzle to the print increases the ability to print large overhangs and bridges, while at the same time the hot end temperature remains extremely stable.

The covers are simply pushed onto the front of the hot end without disassembly and are firmly attached. When it's hot, the silicone expands to the right size and adapts to the hot end.

V6 socks are available in a pack of 3 because they don't last forever. Depending on what materials you print and how much you print, they wear out. Even with sticky abrasive filaments, they should easily last over 100 hours of printing. With less sticky materials such as ABS and gentler use, you can achieve an almost infinite lifespan. Their lifespan can vary.
